The Vig McCormick in Scottsdale

The Vig in Scottsdale is a great place for drinks and some happy hour with friends! This location doesn’t have any games on the patio like the other locations and that’s the only reason they aren’t 5 stars :)

I had hoped for something a little more upscale when I visited (not that this is a dive bar by any means). However, the bar tender makes some pretty good drinks.

Try the Italian salad, chicken wings and posole soup. The Italian salad is a nice blend of flavors. There is thinly sliced soppressata within the salad that is a really nice addition. It really makes this salad stand out. The chicken wings are amazing! Not soggy and has a nice flavor to them. And the posole has a nice spicy kick to it. Not too hot and not mild at all. I wish they would bring back the short rib entree though. The short ribs were out of this world.

A lot of healthy options. We got the sliders and the chicken sandwich. Both were really good. The servers were very attentive and quick with any requests. Would come back!

A nice stop for some food after the diamondbacks game. The bartender was excellent. He recommended the short rib tacos and short rib Mac and cheese. Both were delicious. I loved the tacos, best I've had. Enjoyed the great service, and the atmosphere. Will be back.

We really liked the Italian meat stuffed mushroom appetizer. I didn't care for the sea bass with a tomato sauce and capers. The flavor just wasn't right. Maybe I don't really like capers after all. The tomato sauce covered the fin so I ended up not seeing it and ending up with it in a bite. Nobody else in our group raved about their food. I expected better since it's not an inexpensive place. The service was extremely slow. We got there at 5:30, ordered appetizers and meals at about 5:45, got the appetizers at about 6:20 and the meals didn't arrive until almost 7. The server was very apologetic, so that was nice, but I don't think I'll be back.

Very nice neighborhood institution, good happy hour, selection of beverages and comfort food. Very good service every time.

The Vig is always great. Service is great and food is great. It can get busy on weekends, but the food is worth the wait. You have to try the pazole'. (Spelling?)

Excellent x 5! Customer service outstanding, cauliflower hummus appetizer with chicken and Calavata olives & naan, potent cocktails, posolé full of flavor, avocados and accessories, strong coffee with crème brûlée & blackberries, and filtered water. Outdoor patio was beautiful and quiet (until a noisy, loud party showed up). About $80 for lunch for 2 ladies - worth every penny!

Always appreciate this place. Dark, cool and a nice menu with everything from pad thai to short rib tacos. Several decent beers on tap as well as cocktails.

I tried the chicken and goat sandwich. The ambience was nice, and the food looked great, but the chicken tasted dry and very sub par. The service was terrible. Would've given 1 star if not for the young crowd and look of the place.

We sat on the patio near a heater. We enjoyed a lovely evening with delicious food and friends. I had the Kale Chicken salad and ate every bite. My friend had the Poke bowl. We enjoyed excellent service from the wait staff.

Looking for a quick place to eat lunch close to our hotel on a Sunday, we landed at the Vig. This cozy, wood inlaid eatery was immediately inviting. The large, and I mean large, front door set the stage. We were greeted and offered choice of seating. We choose outdoor, ordered some sandwiches, with some very interesting sides, and away we went on our culinary lunch journey. Excellent food and service.

The ambiance is great here. Indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate everyone. Great food and drink options and friendly service to match the fun atmosphere.

We moved to the neighborhood behind here and had a really good experience our first night. Since then we’ve had 3 bad experiences all related to service. Really not worth my time typing anything else, I just won’t be a returning customer

We ordered a few different dishes and each one of them were absolutely amazing! Customer service was also delightful. I definitely plan to return to the Vig very soon!

A pretty classy looking place. The food was overall really good. My only complaint was the burger bun was too dry.

Overpriced food for the quality. It's good, but absolutely not worth the price tag. I'd rather spend a bit more and go to a very nice restaurant. Mac and cheese side was very bad. Tasted like a $1 microwave meal. The burger tasted great, but not worth the price. I will not be returning.

I've been to the Vig at Arcadia a lot so I thought this one would be as good. I was disappointed. My fries were not really fries and the first ones were still raw. I sent them back. The replacement was cooked, but not much better. Our server was nice, but it took forever for her to come back. Diet Coke and Cherry Coke are not the same.

Not bad food, but geared more toward vegetarians. Not for me.

Love the vig. It’s my neighborhood restaurant and bar. The happy hour is really good.Love the vibe it’s chill. Food is always good and the staff is friendly. The front door is very heavy or maybe I’m doing it wrong? This is always a good to go place hands down.

We have driven by this location of The Vig dozens of times. My husband has gone to another location and has enjoyed it. Tonight we wanted to do something different.The food was okay, not bad by any means but nothing standout. They were able to substitute for gluten free. The acceptable food and the service is where the 3 stars came from. The staff was pretty slow. We had to fill our own water after waiting for a while. I made a comment to my husband that they should write down our order because we had some changes, but he went to put it in right away. Missed my add, and my husbands substitution. Then again didn’t come back, they were nice enough, but didn’t feel like it was 4 or 5 star service, especially with it being a little slower. We might try another location.

Great outdoor space. Food is good. And they are working hard to keep everyone safe during COVID.

Cozy kind of intimate place. Very dark inside. Menu is somewhat limited but the food they do serve is really good. I had the French onion burger, Delicious! Moderately priced. Definitely go back if I'm in that area.

I can't wait to go back. I ordered the fish tacos & a margarita... 🤤 So so so good. The fish was fresh & the margarita made in-house. I also tried my friends curry soup? I forget exactly what it was but it too was amazing.

This is a great place to eat. The overall theme of the resturaunt is very relaxing when you wall in. Our party walked in and was told it was open seating. We sat down in the newly remodeled area which was very nice. Typical menu appetizers, burgers, salads, special entrees, desserts, etc. Ordered 'The Vig' burger which had a interesting combination of egg, guacamole, and jalapenos. It was very juicy, especially from the egg which made it difficult to eat as a whole. The sweet potato fries were excellent, nicely cooked with crispy taste. Waitress was very attentive with refills on beverages and clearing plates when finished. Friendly, positive attitude too. Overall very good place and would revisit.

Excellent food and service! The edamame with garlic soy was amazing!! Also the poke bowl was fresh and a very healthy option. The service was equally amazing! Our server Jen was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Couldn’t have asked for more. :)Not to mention the beer was ice cold and refreshing on a hot day.

I love this place!! Casual but awesome! The food was amazing and the drinks were just as good!! Definitely want to come back!

Small menu, nice atmosphere, and the food was actually really good, but the food was pricey and the portions were small.

It was my first time there and l loved it! I had the cheese and charcuterie board. I was loaded with assorted meat and cheese, nuts and fruits, a very nice spread. I ll be sure to try their dinner menu soon.

Nice atmosphere. We both had the "Steak and Sprouts". Nice dish, large helping, steak cooked to perfection, sprout mix delicious. Would have liked a little more steak and less veggies for the $21 price tag. Happy hour house cocktails good, decent price $6. Wouldn't consider it one of my favs, but nice place.

Stopped in to check out this place. Had the calamari appetizer plenty for two. Next time will try the meat and cheese appetizer looked amazing as diners next to us ordered that!

I was just there with a party of 18 for my daughters bday. Most of us showed up on time except for a few and the service was so bad one of the waiters sighed and rolled her eyes when she saw the rest of us show up. This was the first time all of us had been there and it will definitely be the last. I was very disappointed specially for the amount of money we spent there. Not worth it.
